This page explains what you are charged, how and when you are charged it, and what happens when you cancel. It forms part of Acumen's Terms of Service.
Acumen does not sell through proposals or negotiated contracts. This page, together with the price and inclusions shown at checkout, is the commercial agreement between us. It is written to be read before you buy, not after something goes wrong.
Each level of coverage is billed as a recurring subscription. The price, billing period, and inclusions shown to you at checkout are the terms of your subscription.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the same rate, charged to the payment method on file, and continues until you cancel. You may cancel at any time. Section 7 explains how, and Section 8 explains what is refunded.
Where a subscription is purchased at a limited-time launch rate, that rate does not increase for as long as the subscription remains continuously active at that level. If standard pricing changes later, the change applies to new subscriptions, not to yours. A lapse, cancellation, or downgrade ends the locked rate, and resubscribing later is at the rate then offered.
There are two components:
Usage is charged at the underlying platform cost plus a modest service margin.
Indicative usage rates at the date of this page are approximately $1 per 100 text messages and $15 per 100 AI voice minutes. These are planning estimates, not fixed prices. Your applicable rates, and a realistic estimate of what your business is likely to use, are confirmed with you in writing before the Service is switched on for your real customers. Acumen will give reasonable advance notice before changing your rates.
Usage varies with your own volume, so Acumen does not guarantee a maximum monthly usage cost unless that is agreed with you in writing.
Usage may be billed in more than one way depending on your setup and the platforms involved. It may be charged to a payment method you attach to the system running your configuration, prepaid as a balance you top up, included in your subscription up to a stated allowance, or invoiced separately.
Whichever method applies to you is confirmed with you in writing before the Service goes live, along with your rates. Nothing is charged to a second payment method unless you have set that method up yourself. You will always be told plainly which payment method is charged for which component before anything is switched on.
All amounts are stated and charged in United States dollars unless stated otherwise at checkout. Payments are handled by Acumen's checkout and payment providers, and those providers' own terms apply to the payment transaction itself. Your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees, which are set by them and not by Acumen.
Acumen may from time to time offer a trial of a higher level of coverage alongside your paid subscription, at no additional subscription charge, for a limited period. Trials are offered manually, on request, and are not an automatic feature of any plan. Usage charges still apply during a trial, at your normal rates.
A trial ending does not change your paid subscription level. You will not be moved to a higher paid tier, and your payment method will not be charged a higher subscription rate, without your express agreement.
You may cancel at any time through your checkout provider's account management, or by emailing [email protected]. There is no minimum term. Acumen will not require a phone call, a retention conversation, or any step more burdensome than the one used to subscribe.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period, and you keep access through that period. Usage already incurred remains payable.
Before the Service goes live. If you cancel before Acumen has switched the Service on for your real customers, Acumen refunds what you have paid for the current billing period in full. Nothing has been delivered and no usage has been incurred, so there is nothing to charge you for. This is the practical effect of Acumen's commitment that nothing is switched on until you have seen it working.
After the Service goes live. Subscription fees for a billing period already begun are not refundable on a partial-period basis, and usage already incurred remains payable. Cancel whenever you like; you simply keep the Service through the period you have paid for.
Always refunded in full, for the current billing period:
Discretionary. Acumen may issue a refund or credit where the Service failed materially and Acumen was unable to put it right. Ask, and Acumen will deal with it honestly.
Approved refunds are issued through the provider that processed the original payment. How quickly a refund appears on your statement depends on that provider and your bank, not on Acumen.
If a payment fails, Acumen will attempt to notify you and may retry the charge. If the amount remains unpaid after reasonable notice, Acumen may suspend the Service until payment is received, and may terminate the subscription if it remains unpaid.
Prices shown are exclusive of any sales, use, VAT, GST, or similar taxes. Where Acumen or its payment providers are required to collect such taxes, they will be added at checkout or on your invoice. You are responsible for any taxes assessed on your own business as a result of using the Service.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, email [email protected] first. Most billing questions are resolved quickly and directly. Initiating a chargeback without first raising the issue may result in suspension of the Service while the dispute is resolved.
Acumen may change standard, non-launch pricing for new subscribers at any time. For existing subscribers not on a locked launch rate, Acumen will give at least thirty (30) days notice before a subscription price increase takes effect, and you may cancel before it applies.
Billing questions can be sent to [email protected].
